The Woodridge city board recently marked the hiring of a new city police department employee.
During the Nov. 17 regular board meeting, Woodridge Police Chief Brian Cunningham introduced Erin LaMantia, who was hired for the city’s police records management department. The chief noted that this position is one of the most critical roles in the department and that, "It's been the hardest position for us to fill."
The chief described LaMantia as, "one of the best hires we've made in a long long time."
She was brought in from the Addison department with glowing recommendations. Cunningham said he was initially nervous about bringing her on as the department was changing the system that they had used for years but said that LaMantia caught on right away and has been amazing.
"Since she’s been hired I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been contacted by the command staff and the personnel in Addison about how great she is," Cunningham said at the meeting.
LaMantia thanked the board for their recognition and for the opportunity to work in the community. She introduced the team that she worked with and thanked them for the warm welcome.
