Joliet Fire Department responded to 1025 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the Will County Gazette.
The calls in Joliet included 261 fires - 102 structure fires, 68 vehicle fires and 88 other fires. The fire department also responded to three calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $2,524,490 in fire loss - or about $9,672 per fire.
The department also received 764 false calls, including 21 malicious calls and 743 other false calls.
The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury and two civilian fire-related deaths.
