ComEd has finished its work on vault reconstructions between Clinton and Cass Streets as part of the ongoing Chicago Street Corridor project. Additionally, landscaping to restore recent electrical installations at the Library is now complete. The intersection of Clinton and Chicago Street has been reconstructed with concrete pavement, and pedestrian crosswalks at this intersection remain accessible in all directions.
In the coming week, several tasks are scheduled for completion. These include pouring the structures for a gathering area and water feature at the north end of the park, continuing electrical work for lighting systems, and laying the concrete base for brick paver areas along Chicago Street north of Clinton. Final paving surfaces will also be placed on Clinton Street and Chicago Street north of Cass.
To facilitate proper curing of newly laid concrete, Clinton Street between Scott Street and Ottawa Street will stay closed to through traffic. Daytime parking restrictions are in place on Chicago Street between Jefferson Street and Clinton from 6 AM to 6 PM due to construction activities. Parking alternatives are available in nearby Scott Street or Ottawa Street parking garages.
Construction continues with electrical, plumbing, and framing operations focused on the northernmost water feature structure.
