U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona announced on September 23 that Hickory Creek Middle School has been recognized as a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School. The U.S. Department of Education acknowledged the school for its exemplary high performance based on Illinois state assessments.

Students' summer ends on Aug. 22 with return to Frankfort Public Schools
Frankfort School District 157-C Superintendent Doug Wernet informed the Board of Education that "Meet and Greets" will be held on Aug. 21, with the first day of school for students on the following day. Wernet shared his report during the board's June 18 meeting.
