Richard Henry Zeisel passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and service. Born in Chicago on January 24, 1934, Richard enlisted in the US Army in 1955, serving in Ansbach, Germany, and earning commendations for sharpshooting. After his military service, Richard worked at Commonwealth Edison for 35 years and was an avid bowler. He brought joy to others working at Winfield Flower Shop post-retirement, delivering smiles with flowers. An active member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, Richard was a Eucharistic Minister, member of the Knights of Columbus, and volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed puzzle games, sports, and was a dedicated fan of Notre Dame, the Chicago Cubs, and the Chicago Blackhawks. Richard was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Dolores, parents, and siblings. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, whom he adored. Visitation and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on October 29 and 30, 2025, with interment at Resurrection Cemetery. Richard’s life was marked by faith, service, and love for his family.
