Ted Dabrowski, a candidate for governor of Illinois, addressed the issue of low proficiency among Mokena students despite significant spending and pledged to enhance literacy and numeracy. This statement was made during the Will County Republican Central Committee Freedom Day Dinner.

"I understand the concern Mokena parents have about the quality of education in their schools considering how much they pay in property taxes every year," said Dabrowski, Illinois Gubernatorial Candidate. "Over a third of students in Mokena can't read at grade level and half can't do math. Yet officials spend over $15,500 per student. One of my top priorities as governor will be to restore literacy and numeracy to Illinois schools."
