Kathryn Grace Gnatek | O'Neil Funeral Home And Heritage Crematory - Lockport

Kathryn Grace Gnatek, 69, of Lockport, peacefully passed away on October 21, 2025, with her devoted husband, William “Bill” at her side. Kathryn, a lifelong resident of Lockport, received an associate’s degree from Joliet Junior College and was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Frankfort. She was known for her role as a Sunday school teacher, advocating for children, and her strong faith. Kathryn enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and researching her family history in her spare time. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Kathryn is survived by her husband of 50 years, William J. “Bill” Gnatek, her father John McGownd, her brother Dave (Rhonda) McGownd, and many cherished nieces, nephews, church family, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Shane Alan Miller-Gnatek, her mother Helen McGownd, and sister Lisa Sniegowski. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Kathryn’s family would be appreciated.

Cremation rites have been respectfully addressed. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Frankfort, Illinois, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by President Clinton Giese III. Inurnment will take place at Lockport City Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of O’Neil Funeral Home in Lockport, Illinois.
