Ronald Bolek, 79, was remembered for his heroism, mentorship, and friendship by those who knew him. Passing away on October 28, 2024, surrounded by his family, Ronald was described as a man of faith, compassion, and enduring strength. Born on August 1, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois, he spent his life dedicated to family, work, and beliefs, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.

Ronald was a devoted husband to his late wife, Diane, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage, creating a home filled with joy, laughter, and love. Together, they raised three sons—Ronald, James, and Andrew—who carry forward his legacy of love, resilience, and integrity. Regarded not only as a father but also as a friend, Ronald guided his sons through life with wisdom, humor, and a steadfast work ethic.

Admired for his commitment to hard work and providing for his family, Ronald retired from the Tinley Park Public Works Department. An outdoors enthusiast, he enjoyed treasure hunting with his metal detector, fishing, boating, and family time at Lake Koshkonong. Ronald was a dedicated reader, maintaining newspaper subscriptions to stay informed about the world. He brought joy to others with his charming personality, unique sense of humor, and endearing quirkiness.

Ronald is survived by his sons Ron, Jim, and Andy; daughters-in-law Sue, Tara, and Rachel; grandchildren Audrey, Courtney, Brandon, Dan, Nate, Trenton, Chase, and Ziana; siblings; and many friends and neighbors whose lives he touched.

A memorial service celebrating Ronald's life will take place at St. Damian Church in Oak Forest, Illinois, at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society in Ronald’s memory are welcomed.

Ronald's loved ones find solace in imagining him reunited with his wife in eternal peace and pray for his guidance and continued blessings from above. Ronald will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
