The City of Joliet Legislative Committee is scheduled to hold a special meeting on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 4:30 PM. The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers on the second floor of Joliet City Hall, located at 150 West Jefferson Street.

According to the agenda, the committee will review and approve minutes from its September 30, 2024 meeting. Citizens who are unable to attend have the option to email comments in advance to publiccomment@joliet.gov.

The meeting includes opportunities for citizens to speak about agenda items and non-agenda items. Each speaker is allowed up to four minutes. The session is not intended as a question-and-answer period, and staff or committee members typically do not respond directly during public comment periods. The City Clerk maintains copies of public speaking procedures. "Speakers who engage in conduct injurious to the harmony of the meeting shall be called to order by the Presiding Officer and may forfeit the opportunity to speak," according to official guidelines.

Agenda items include an ordinance amending Section 2-5 of the City Code of Ordinances regarding unauthorized use of city seals and emblems, as well as an amendment related to the Des Plaines River Valley Enterprise Zone Intergovernmental Agreement.

New or old business that arises will not be subject to final action or recommendation during this session.

The city states that meetings are held in accessible locations. Anyone needing reasonable accommodation can contact The City Clerk Office at 150 West Jefferson Street or call (815) 724-3780.
