A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to Will County on September 26, 2024, by the Will County Gazette. The request specifically asked for a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024, till September 26, 2024. The desired fields in the list include the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and amount.

In other news related to Illinois' infrastructure spending, Governor JB Pritzker announced Rebuild Illinois in July 2023. This extensive multi-year program aims to improve and repair all modes of transportation across the state with an investment of over $40 billion over six years.

According to information from the Illinois Department of Transportation, ten major projects are being planned or implemented in Chicago under this program. A total investment of $396 million is being made towards these projects aimed at improving safety and mobility on Illinois's roads and bridges. Three out of these ten projects are scheduled for completion in 2024 while the remaining seven are projected for completion between 2025 and 2030.

Under Rebuild Illinois, Kane County will see seven projects completed with an investment of $107 million. Central Cook County is also set to benefit from this program with ten projects lined up at a cost of $220 million dedicated towards constructing roads and bridges.
