The City of Joliet Public Safety Committee convened on June 26, 2024. The meeting began with roll call and the approval of minutes from previous meetings held on May 7, 2024 (TMP-7343) and June 4, 2024 (TMP-7390).

During the "Citizens to be Heard on Agenda Items" section, individuals were given a maximum of four minutes to speak about agenda items. It was noted that this period is not intended for questions and answers, and committee members generally do not respond to public comments. The City Clerk holds a copy of the public speaking procedures, and any speaker engaging in conduct disruptive to the meeting's harmony may be called to order by the Presiding Officer.

The agenda included several key items:

1. Purchase of one new vehicle for undercover drug enforcement (TMP-7456).

2. Request to approve an award of contract with Hypoint Solutions for a portable LiDAR-based vehicle detection and warning system (TMP-7478).

Two resolutions were discussed:

1. A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement with Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 (TMP-7453).

2. A resolution authorizing execution of a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) between the City of Joliet and Presence Central and Suburban Hospitals Network, doing business as Ascension Saint Joseph Medical Center (TMP-7455).

In addition, there was time allocated for new or old business not intended for final action or recommendation.

During the "Public Comments" section, individuals were again allowed up to four minutes to speak on non-agenda items under similar rules as earlier in the meeting.

The meeting concluded with an adjournment notice indicating that it was held in an accessible location. Attendees needing reasonable accommodation were advised to contact Christa M. Desiderio, City Clerk.
