4. NACPRO Award Announcement - Don't be a Jerk Marketing Campaign

Chief Operating Officer Schultz spoke about receiving the NACPRO (National Association of County Park and Recreation Officials) Award. The District was recognized for it's marketing campaign "Don't be a jerk". As Schultz explained, it's an honor for the District and even more for the Marketing and Communications Department who put together this campaign with the help of the District's Police Department.

Schultz was pleased to announce a new program called "The Buzz" which is a 22 minute long form video developed by our interpretative naturalists from Plum Creek Nature Center and our Marketing and Communications Department that takes you across the County. Also, three (3) local community access television stations that will be running these programs expanding our audience and helping people understand nature, their forest preserves, and what we have to offer.

J. COMMENTS BY COMMISSIONERS

Commissioner Dollinger asked if the Forest Preserve is offering E-Learning programs to utilize during the semester. Schultz responded that the District is putting together programs for online classrooms in a variety of formats. School aged children may be given assignments to view some of the Forest Preserve's programs that will be provided by staff. All the links will have easy accessibility for students.
