Jerome M. Strick, affectionately known as "Jerry," passed away on July 4, 2025, in Frankfort, IL. He was born on February 1, 1930, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Mary and Garfield. Jerry was a man known for his humor and humility, a trait that shone through his self-penned obituary.

A Marquette University graduate with a Journalism degree, Jerry served in the Army, rising to the rank of Sergeant during his time in Japan. His career path led him through various ventures, including stints at Continental Casualty Company, Ryan Insurance, and the physician consulting business.

In 1957, a serendipitous encounter led to his marriage to Maria Luisa Patlan, who shared a life of 63 years with him. Together, they raised four children, Jeff, Mandi, Dan, and Mike, and were blessed with nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Throughout his life, Jerry's love for writing flourished. He wrote a weekly column for the Joliet Herald News and impacted readers with his words. Following Maria Luisa's passing in 2020, he felt his world dim slightly.

In memory of Jerry, donations to Lightways Hospice would be appreciated.

In his passing, Jerome M. Strick leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a deep commitment to family. His humor, humility, and love for storytelling will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. .
