City of Joliet Economic Development Committee met March 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

1. Roll Call

PRESENT: Councilman Larry Hug, Chairman, Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson.

ABSENT: Councilman Terry Morris.

ALSO PRESENT: Derek Conley, Economic Development Specialist, Mike Schwarz, Director of Planning.

2. Approval of Minutes—February 11, 2020

Motion to approve the minutes from the February 11, 2020 meeting was made by Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson.

Motion seconded by Councilman Larry Hug, Chairman. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Councilman Larry Hug, Chairman, Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson. NAYS: None.

3. Citizens to Be Heard on Agenda Items

None.

4. New/Old Business - For Final Action Or Recommendation

a. A Resolution Approving a Lease Agreement with Hudson Hollister 50 E. Jefferson Street, Joliet, IL

Mr. Conley, Economic Development Specialist, gave the Committee background information about the project and Mr. Hudson Hollister, on behalf of the request, was in attendance by phone call to answer any questions.

Mr. Hollister briefly spoke about their companies and what their goal is.

Councilman Hug inquired why they chose Joliet Union Station versus anywhere else in the city. Mr. Hollister responded that they wanted to be able to recruit from Chicago.

Motion to recommend the full City Council approve the Resolution Approving a Lease Agreement with Hudson Hollister 50 E. Jefferson Street, Joliet, IL contingent on final approval from the City's Legal Council was made by Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson.

Motion seconded by Councilman Larry Hug, Chairman. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Councilman Larry Hug, Chairman, Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson. NAYS: None.

b. Approval of Additional Hourly Services Request for Fee Authorization – Proposed Rock Run Crossing Public Private Crossing Public Private Partnership

Mr. Conley gave a brief update on the hourly services request for fee authorization for the proposed Rock Run Crossing Public Private Crossing Public Private Partnership.

Motion to recommend the Approval of Additional Hourly Services Request for Fee Authorization for the Proposed Rock Run Crossing Public Private Crossing Public Private Partnership up to $20,000 maximum go before the full City Council for approval was made by Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson.

Motion seconded by Councilman Larry Hug, Chairman. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Councilman Larry Hug, Chairman, Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson. NAYS: None.

5. New or Old Business, Not For Final Action or Recommendation

a. Economic Development Updates

Mr. Conley did not have any major updates other than Staff in all departments are currently very busy.

Councilman Dickinson asked for an update on Buona Beef. Mr. Conley responded.

There was brief discussion about the vacant Bob & Sis location at the corner of Midland and Jefferson Street.

6. Public Comments

None.

7. Adjournment

Motion to adjourn was made by Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson.

Motion seconded by Councilman Larry Hug, Chairman. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Councilman Larry Hug, Chairman, Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson. NAYS: None.
