Braidwood City Council met Jan. 28.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Call to Order: The Regular Meeting of the Braidwood City Council on January 28, 2020 was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Jones in the Council Chambers of the Braidwood City Hall.

Pledge of Allegiance: Mayor Jones requested all rise for the Pledge of Allegiance.

Roll Call: Upon Roll Call by the Clerk, the following members of the corporate authorities answered “Here” or “Present”;

Elected Officials;

Present: Commissioner Saltzman, Commissioner Money, Commissioner Smith, and Mayor Jones

Absent: Commissioner Hart

Appointed Officials;

Present: City Attorney Wellner, City Administrator Altiery, Chief Lyons, and City Clerk Fisher

Absent: City Engineer Weber

Quorum: There being sufficient members of the corporate authorities in attendance to constitute a quorum, the meeting was declared in order.

Public Comment: Chris Earling addressed the Council, inquiring about finances from 2018-2019. He further offered to volunteer for the City if needed and stated his appreciation for Ty Keller, Officer Coronelli, Chief Lyons and Detective Altiery.

Approval of Minutes: Commissioner Saltzman made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Smith, to approve meeting minutes from the January 14, 2020, Regular Council Meeting. Motion carried with 4 ayes; 0 nays. (Saltzman, Smith, Money and Jones)

Mayor’s Report: Mayor Jones requested a Motion to Propose an Amendment to Chapter 23- Zoning of the Braidwood Code of Ordinances to review and consider amendments to regulate adult use cannabis facilities within the city of Braidwood and to send the proposition to Plan Commission for consideration. This was tabled until the Regular Meeting of the City Council on February 11, 2020

Administrator Report: Administrator Tony Altiery advised there will be a work meeting on February 05, 2020 at the City Hall.

City Clerk Report: Engineer Report:

Chief of Police: Chief Lyons advised that, within the last 2 weeks, there were 188 calls for service, 3 arrests and 4 motor vehicle accidents.

City Attorney Report:

Accounts & Finance Report: Commissioner Saltzman made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Money, to approve the Accounts Payable Report in the amount of $162,666.95 as identified in the Accounts Payable General Ledger dated 01/28/2020. Motion carried with 4 ayes; 0 nays. (Saltzman, Smith, Money, and Jones) Commissioner Saltzman made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Smith, to approve the Payroll Report, in the amount of $152,400.54, as identified in the Payroll General Ledger dated 01/22/2020. Motion carried with 4 ayes; 0 nays. (Saltzman, Smith, Money, and Jones) Saltzman advised that he expects an audit presentation on 02/25/2020.

Streets & Public Improvement Report:

Public Property Report: Commissioner Money outlined the work done by the city crews within the last 2 weeks.

Adjournment: Commissioner Saltzman made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Money, to adjourn the January 28, 2020, regular meeting of the Braidwood City Council. Motion carried with 4 ayes; 0 nays. (Saltzman, Smith, Money and Jones) The next regular meeting of the Council will be held February 11, 2020.
