Beecher Community Unit School District 200U Board of Education Personnel Committee met Sept. 3.

Beecher 200U Board of Education Personnel Committee Minutes Of September 3, 2019 7:00 pm Junior High School Library

The meeting was called to order at 6:49 pm with all committee members (Papas, Dousias, and Hermen) present.

Others in attendance: Brad Cox, Marla Heldt, Julie Cleary, Jennifer Bunte, Kacy Malecha, and Shane Malecha, Mindy Nykaza, Brandon Stadt, Beth O’Neil, Wilma Segert, J. Karla Wcisel, Debbie Hermanson, Diane Eicke, Sharon Darling, and Julie Mackowiak

J. Karla Wcisel requested a copy of the 2018 matrix. Mr. Cox will send it.

The committee proceeded to Executive Session (7:07 pm) to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1). Audience members departed the library.

The committee returned to its meeting with audience members returning to the library. (8:00 pm)

The Committee requested classified employees to provide input to the committee regarding the compensation matter. The Committee wants to take a collaborative and pro-active approach.

The Committee requested the classified employees provide a list of concerns and wishes and bring them to the next Personnel Committee meeting. The committee wants to begin a collaborative effort to move forward.

As a start, Mr. Cox will meet with non-classified employees at the elementary on Wednesday, September 4th and Thursday, September 5th.

Public comment included the concern of no Classified Employee Handbook. Other concerns were mentioned.

The Committee stated that a solution to the matter is a priority, therefore communication is key.

The meeting adjourned at 8:26 pm.
