City of Lockport City Council met June 4.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Call to Order

The Regular Meeting of the Wilmington City Council on, June 4, 2019 was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Roy Strong in the Council Chambers of the Wilmington City Hall.

Roll Call

Upon Roll Call by the Clerk the following members of the corporate authorities answered “Here” or “Present”:

Aldermen Present Persic, Kirwin, Combes, Vice, Butler, Dietz, Studer, Tenn 

Quorum

There being a sufficient number of members of the corporate authorities in attendance to constitute a quorum, the meeting was declared in order.

Other Officials in Attendance

Also, in attendance were the City Administrator/Deputy City Clerk Joie Ziller, Director of Public Works Darin Fowler, and Attorney Bryan Wellner

Approval of Minutes

Alderman Studer made a motion and Alderman Combes seconded to approve the Minutes from the Regular City Council Meeting from May 21, 2019 and the Special City Council Meeting from 5-28-19.

Upon roll call, the vote was:

AYES: 8 Studer, Combes, Persic, Kirwin, Vice, Butler, Dietz, Studer, Tenn

NAYS: 0

The motion carried.

Mayor’s Report

Mayor Strong mentioned that he would like Public Service work to be used to help clean the city. He directed this to Director of Public Works Darin Fowler.

Public Comment

There was no Public Comment

Planning & Zoning Commission

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 5:00 p.m.

Committee Reports

Buildings, Grounds, Parks, Health & Safety Committee

The next scheduled meeting is Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 5:30 p.m.

Water, Sewer, Streets and Alleys Committee

The next scheduled meeting is Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.

Police & ESDA Committee

The next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 5:30 p.m.

Finance, Administration & Land Acquisition Committee

Alderman Dietz made a motion and Alderman Butler seconded to approve the Accounts Payable reports dated June 4, 2019.

Upon roll call, the vote was:

AYES: 8 Dietz, Butler, Persic, Kirwin, Combes, Vice, Studer, Tenn

NAYES: 0

ABSENT: 0

The motion carried.

The next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.

Ordinance & License Committee

The next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.

Personnel & Collective Bargaining Committee

Nothing at this time.

Attorney’s Report

Attorney Bryan Wellner suggested that Alderman should not comment during Public Comment.

Alderman should allow Citizens to complete their time unimpeded to keep everything running smoothly.

Executive Session

Alderman Persic made a motion and Alderman Butler seconded to go into Executive Session at 7:11 p.m. to discuss the Appointment, Employment, Compensation, Discipline, Performance or Dismissal of Specific Employee(s) [5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)]

Upon roll call, the vote was:

AYES: 8 Persic, Butler, Kirwin, Combes, Vice, Dietz, Studer, Tenn

NAYES: 0

ABSENT: 0

The motion carried.

Alderman Persic made a motion and Alderman Butler seconded to move to close Executive Session at 7:19 p.m.

Upon roll call, the vote was:

AYES: 8 Persic, Butler, Kirwin, Combes, Vice, Dietz, Studer, Tenn

NAYES: 0

ABSENT: 0

No Action Was Taken From Executive Session

Adjournment

Motion to adjourn the meeting made by Alderman Combes and seconded by Alderman Butler.

Upon voice vote, the motion carried. The Regular Meeting of the City of Wilmington City Council held on June 4, 2019 adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
