The City of Joliet Board of Fire and Police Commissioners is scheduled to meet on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 5:15 PM. The meeting will take place in the Joliet Police Community Room located at 150 West Washington Street, Joliet, Illinois.
Citizens who are unable to attend can submit comments via email before the meeting at publiccomment@joliet.gov.
The agenda includes roll call and approval of minutes from the regular meeting held on June 9, 2025, and a special meeting on June 23, 2025. There will be a segment for citizens to address agenda items with a limit of four minutes per speaker. It is not intended as a question-and-answer session, and responses from staff or commission members are not typical. Conduct deemed disruptive by the Presiding Officer may result in forfeiture of speaking privileges.
A secretary's report will be presented followed by a closed session focusing on specific employee matters related to appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)).
Promotions within the Joliet Fire Department will also be discussed. Promotions include:
- Paul Yanak from Captain to Battalion Chief
- John Miller from Captain to Battalion Chief
- Jim Lukancic from Captain to Battalion Chief
- Craig Sayles from Lieutenant to Captain
- Anthony Maffeo from Lieutenant to Captain
- Anthony Frankovich from Apparatus Operator Paramedic to Lieutenant
- Nathan Kren from Apparatus Operator Paramedic to Lieutenant
New or old business items that do not require final action or recommendation will be considered.
There will also be an opportunity for public comment on non-agenda items under similar conditions as agenda item comments.
