The following upcoming Republican events are taking place in Will County:
The Will County Republican Central Committee Monthly Meeting will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at the Cardinal Creek Golf Course, 615 Dixie Highway, in Beecher. Candidates will hold a meet and greet, to be followed by the general meeting at 7:30 p.m.
State Representative Margo McDermed is holding a women’s self-defense class tonight from 6-8 p.m. at the New Lenox Village Hall on 1 Veterans Pkwy. Those interested should email or call the representative at mcdermed@ilhousegop.org or 815 277-2079.
The Chicagoland Rally, a pro-gun, student-led rally by March for Our Rights, will be held on Saturday morning at Memorial Park, 208 W Union Ave., in Wheaton.

The annual golf outing held by the Wheatland Township Republican Organization will be held on Aug. 23 from 12:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Tamarack Golf Club, 24032 Royal Worlington Dr., in Naperville. Tee time will be at 1:30 p.m., followed by cocktails at 5:30 p.m.. The price for each golfer is $125, or $50 for just the cocktail reception. Tickets can be purchased on the Wheatland Republican website.
The 4th Annual Illinois Conservative Union Grassroots Activist Conference will be held at the Bolingbrook Golf Club, 2001 Rodeo Dr., in Bolingbrook on Aug. 24 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The goal of the conference is to share ideas and strategies to turn Illinois into a Republican state for the 2020 election.
Finally, the Will County Republican Central Committee, in collaboration with the Illinois Republican County Chairmen's Association and the Illinois State Central Committee, will hold Precinct Committeeperson training on Aug. 24 from 8 a.m. to noon and Candidate Training from 12:45 to 4:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Center, 214 N. Ottawa St., in Joliet. Pre-registration is required by emailing Judy Wooten at j.jwooten@sbcglobal.net with your full name as it appears on your voter's registration, address and phone number. Please also include which session you would like to attend.
