CITY OF CREST HILL: Crest Hill Breaks Ground on New Public Works Facility

Groundbreak

City of Crest Hill issued the following announcement on May 31.

Crest Hill Mayor Ray Soliman and key project stakeholders broke ground May 30 on the city’s new $4.5 million public works facility on six acres of land at the corner of Oakland and Raynor Avenues. The new facility will house the majority of Crest Hill’s 22 public works employees and administrative staff. It will also provide covered parking for public works vehicles to reduce costs and increase longevity of city property.

The city saved upwards of $6 million dollars by having the City’s building inspector handle the general contract management.

Key to the project getting off the ground were Building Inspector Kirk Wilkins, Chief Mechanic Brian Semplinski, City Administrator Heather McGuire, and the City's finance consultant Nick Narducci along with Mayor Soliman and the Crest Hill City Council.

Construction is expected to be completed before the end of the year.
