State House race: Republican Batinick wins voter tally in Plainfield Township

Mark Batinick led Democrat Mica Freeman in votes cast in Plainfield Township for the District 97 state House race, according to the latest vote count.

Batinick appeared to outpace Freeman by a margin of 0.5 percent on Tuesday in the township.

In comparison, the 2014 winner, Republican Mark Batinick, won by a margin of 8 percent in that jurisdiction, beating Democrat Moira K. Dunn, who received 4,474 votes to Batinick's 5,245.
