City of Lockport issued the following announcement on Oct. 26.
In partnership with the Lockport VFW Post 5788, the City is hosting the Annual Veterans Day Celebration honoring all those who have served or are currently serving our country. The ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lockport VFW, located at 1026 E. 9th Street. Coffee and rolls will be provided free of charge to all attendees.
Mayor Streit is holding the Annual Veteran Story Contest – open to all veterans and active military who would like to participate by sharing their service story at the ceremony. Two categories: humorous and reflective will be voted on by those present. Service members with the best story in each category will be awarded with a gift card to the Public Landing Restaurant.
