Crest Hill residents are encouraged to show support as the Joliet community honors and remembers SSG Jose Duenez Jr. The official funeral procession route for Friday, April 18, 2025, has been released.

The procession will depart from Tezak Funeral Home at 9:00 a.m. It then turns right westbound onto Plainfield Rd. to Theodore St., left westbound onto Theodore St. to Larkin Ave, and left southbound onto Larkin Ave to Jefferson St.

Continuing the route, it turns left eastbound onto Jefferson to Richards St., right southbound onto Richards to Washington St., and left eastbound onto Washington St. to Wilson. At Wilson, only the hearse and family vehicles will pass the family residence.

Once the vehicles rejoin the procession, they continue to Henderson Ave. by turning left northbound onto Henderson Ave to Cass St., and then left westbound onto Cass to Collins St. Finally, the procession turns left southbound onto Collins St. to Jefferson St., Jefferson St. northbound to Eastern Ave, right northbound onto Eastern to Cass St., left westbound onto Cass St. to Scott St., right northbound onto Scott St. to Columbia St., and left westbound onto Columbia St., which turns into Ruby St. to Broadway St. The route then turns right northbound onto Broadway St. to Theodore St., and left westbound onto Theodore St. to Cedarwood Dr. The procession turns left southbound onto Cedarwood Dr. to end at Word of Life Church, 1500 Cedarwood Dr., Crest Hill.

Guests are invited to attend the funeral service at Word of Life Church on the morning of Friday, April 18, 2025. A brief gathering is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. before the service begins at 11:00 a.m. Following the services, cremation rites will be performed, and his remains will remain with his family.
