Constituents in Illinois' 11th Congressional District had the opportunity to meet with candidate Tonia Khouri during a recent meet-and-greet event held in Joliet.
Dubbed "Talk with Tonia," the gathering allowed attendees to gain better insight into Khouri's views on local and federal issues. It was the first of a series of such events that will take place around Illinois throughout the summer.
“I want to empower the people in our district," Khouri said. "Listening to their concerns firsthand and hearing their stories is just the first step. This tour gives me the chance to get to hear from residents throughout the district."
Attendees came from all over the state.
“I came all the way from Naperville to meet Tonia," Tony Marchese said. “We need more leaders like her representing us in Washington.”
Military Momma Network founder Geriann Wiesbrook said she was pleased with Khouri's dedication to members of the military and her concerns about national security issues.
“Her vision for our nation is one I could see myself supporting," Wiesbrook said.
