Norman L. Lardi, 86, of South Wilmington, Remembered for Dedication to Family and Construction Career

Norman L. Lardi | Baskerville Funeral Home - Wilmington

Norman L. Lardi, aged 86, of South Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 14, 2025. Born on August 10, 1939, Norman was a devoted husband to Donita and loving father to Norman Jr., Patti, and Ron. He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, deeply invested in his family's lives.

Norman began his career in construction after high school, working with Mazzurco Construction and Ray Serena Construction. Proud of his trade, he played a significant role in building local landmarks in Illinois. A loyal union member, Norman found fulfillment in his work and the contributions he made to his community.

Outside of work, Norman enjoyed horse racing, traveling, playing sports, and coaching baseball. He derived immense joy from watching his grandchildren participate in sports. He will be remembered for his lively interests and enthusiasm for life.

Norman is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Kenneth and Gene Lardi.

A visitation will be held at Reeves Funeral Home in Gardner on Sunday, October 19, 2025, and Monday, October 20, 2025, followed by a service and burial at Braceville-Gardner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the South Wilmington Fire Department are appreciated. Norman will be honored by pallbearers and remembered by family and friends both in person and online.

Funeral services and arrangements have been entrusted to Reeves, Fruland & Baskerville Funeral Homes and Crematory.
