The City of Joliet has announced that the Ottawa Street parking deck in downtown Joliet will be closed for two days due to ongoing construction on the Chicago Street Streetscape project. The closure is scheduled from 7:00am on Saturday, August 16, through 6:00am on Monday, August 18, 2025.
According to city officials, the temporary closure is necessary to re-pour the concrete entrance and restore access following work related to the installation of a new ComEd electrical service. The city stated, "The parking deck will be closed for approximately two days, from 7:00am Saturday to 6:00am on Monday, to re-pour the concrete entrance and restore access."
Officials also indicated that more updates would be provided as construction progresses. "Additional information will be released as construction phasing progresses," the city said.
Joliet is located about 30 miles southwest of Chicago and serves as the county seat of Will County. As of the 2020 census, it was Illinois’ third largest city with a population of over 150,000 residents. More details about Joliet can be found at https://www.joliet.gov.
