The Village Board of Park Forest is set to convene for its last meeting of the month on Monday at 7 p.m., hosted at the Park Forest Village Hall. The session will begin with a swearing-in ceremony for two new members of the Park Forest Fire Department before transitioning to the Board of Trustees' Rules and Regular Meeting.
The meeting agenda includes one item on the consent agenda and two items on the debatable agenda. Finance Director Mark Pries has submitted a request to amend Ordinance No. 2227 to accommodate new revenues and unplanned expenditures for the fiscal year 2024-25. Pries explained that unexpected financial changes are minor relative to the entire budget and emphasized the importance of ongoing budget refinement.
The Economic Development and Planning Department, through Assistant Director Andrew Brown, is seeking approval for the sale of a property at 406 Sauk Trail. The memo requests a streamlined process for this transaction. The department aims to prepare a quick response to potential offers and suggests setting a minimum sale price of $157,000. The property rehabilitation cost was estimated at $183,734, with some costs offset by a grant, leaving the Village's net investment at approximately $143,640.
The Board of Trustees will also address the consent agenda, which includes authorizing a contract for carbon dioxide chemical supplies at the local water treatment plant, priced at $300 per ton, totaling $97,200.
