The City of Joliet has announced changes to traffic patterns and street closures at the intersection of N. Broadway Street and Ruby Street as part of the ongoing Broadway Street Water Main Improvement Project. The modifications are necessary to allow for the construction of new concrete pavement at this intersection.

Starting November 3, northbound traffic on N. Broadway Street from Marble Street to Ruby Street will be closed. Additionally, the eastbound left turn lane from Ruby Street to northbound N. Broadway Street will also be closed during this phase. However, eastbound Ruby Street and southbound N. Broadway Street will remain open, along with westbound traffic on Ruby Street and the westbound right turn lane from Ruby Street to N. Broadway Street.

Local detours will be set up for drivers affected by these changes, which are expected to last until November 17. Motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes while construction is underway.

"We appreciate your patience and ask that you drive slowly and cautiously through any construction zone," stated city officials.

Further information about the project is available on the city's website at www.joliet.gov/construction-zone. Residents with questions can contact the Public Utilities Department at (815) 724-4220.
