Work on the Chicago Street Corridor continues to progress with significant activities scheduled both for the current and upcoming weeks. The water main on Chicago Street, north of Cass Street, is currently undergoing pressurization, chlorination, and testing. This is a necessary step before new water services can be installed. Electrical work is also underway behind the new curbs, while foundations for shade structures have been installed.
Looking ahead to the week starting April 7th, a significant phase involves the installation of a new water main on Clinton Street at Ottawa. This will result in a block closure east to Chicago Street, affecting all traffic and on-street parking in this area. Despite this limitation, two-way traffic will remain permissible on Clinton Street east of Chicago and on Chicago Street between Van Buren and Clinton. Electrical work behind the curbs and foundation work on structures within the City Square are set to continue.
Additionally, there is an ongoing installation of electrical conduits and streetlight foundations behind curbs. The tent structure, part of the earlier development, is being dismantled to make way for expanded work efforts.
