Dr. Tamela Daniels Superintendent | Fairmont School District 89
Fairmont School District 89 is seeking to fill an immediate vacancy on its School Board. Resumes for this vacancy will be accepted from April 1 until April 15, 2025, to cover a term lasting until April 2029. Potential candidates are encouraged to submit their applications via email to tdaniels@fsd89.org and boardmembers@fsd89.org before the April 15 deadline.
To qualify for the position, applicants must meet several criteria: They must be United States citizens, at least 18 years old, residents of Illinois and District 89 for at least a year prior to appointment, and registered voters. Additionally, candidates must not be child sex offenders, hold another incompatible public office, have a prohibited interest in any contract with the district, be school trustees, or hold certain types of prohibited state or federal employment.
Candidates who are chosen for interviews will receive notifications by April 17, 2025. The interviews are scheduled to take place between April 21 and April 25. The final candidate will be approved by the Board during the Committee of the Whole meeting on May 7.
