Frankfort, Illinois - Wayne A. Sobota, 77, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Silver Cross Hospital surrounded by his beloved wife and children. He is survived by his wife Betty Sobota, children Jennifer Pilon, Anna Lyons, and Andrew Sobota, grandchildren, sister Rosa Kusner, nieces Gina Cummings and Trisha Buettner, and angel Elizabeth, who will never be forgotten. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Augusta Sobota.

Wayne and Betty shared 52 years of marriage and three children. As a pharmacist for over 40 years, he brought his quick wit and lighthearted nature to work every day. A devout member of St. Mary's Church, he actively participated in parish life, cherishing moments like Wednesday school mass with his grandchildren.

Known for his love and passion for family, Wayne enjoyed sharing meals, hunting for deals with coupons, and watching Providence football games in retirement. His contagious zest for life, kindness, humility, and humor touched all who knew him.

Visitation for Wayne will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, located at 65 Old Frankfort Way in Frankfort, on Monday, January 13, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A short visitation will follow the next day from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 19515 115th Ave in Mokena. Wayne will be laid to rest at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Mokena. To offer condolences or order memorial trees, please visit the flower store.
