Irene V. Vasiliades | O'Neil Funeral Home And Heritage Crematory - Lockport
Lockport - Irene Vasiliades, a beloved figure in Lemont and Lockport, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love and wisdom. After moving north from Joppa, IL, Irene worked at Western Electric and met her husband, Jimmy. Together, they raised their children and were active members of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Joliet. Irene's infectious smile, wit, and singing voice endeared her to all. She was known as the matriarch of her family, a loving yiayia to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including her special pup Koukla. Irene's strength and love were felt by all who knew her. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings. Visitation will be on Monday, April 7, 2025, at O'Neil Funeral Home, followed by Funeral Services at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
