Marjorie Jean Yeates, 92, of Wilmington, passed away on December 14, 2024, at her home. Born on June 3, 1932, in Oswego, New York, she was the daughter of Francis and Ethel Gentile. Marjorie married Thomas Yeates on June 4, 1955. After Tom retired from the Coast Guard, they settled in Braidwood, where they raised their five children. Marjorie was a devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and enjoyed participating in a women's bowling league. She worked as a confidential secretary at Personal Products and enjoyed Bingo and card games with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter Jean (Mark) Jackson of Essex, daughter-in-law Liz Yeates of Coal City, grandchildren Roni Fox, Seth (Tabitha) Fox, Kim Yeates, Keith (Karen) Jackson, Gini (Corey) Fuhrmann, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Marjorie is also survived by her sisters Shirley McArdell of Gridley and Louise Gentile of Tampa Bay, FL, sister-in-law Jean Duthler of Missouri, and many nieces and nephews.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Thomas E. Yeates, sons Thomas R. Yeates and Daniel E. Yeates, and daughters Maureen T. Yeates and Kimberly A. Yeates.

A visitation will be held on December 19, 2024, from 11am to 1pm at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home and Crematory in Braidwood, followed by a funeral service at 1pm at the same location. Interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at 2:30pm.
