The City of Joliet has announced that northbound Raynor Avenue will be closed at the Six Corners intersection beginning July 30, 2025. The closure is necessary for new pavement construction as part of the Plainfield Road Water Main Improvement Project.

According to city officials, northbound traffic on Raynor Avenue will be closed from Mason Avenue to Black Road. Both Black Road and Ruby Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction, as will Plainfield Road. Local detours are planned during this phase of construction, which is expected to last until August 6.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes while the work is underway. The city stated, "We appreciate your patience and ask that you drive slowly and cautiously through any construction zone."

Additional information about the project is available at www.joliet.gov/construction-zone. Questions can be directed to the Public Utilities Department at (815) 724-4220.
