Teddy D. Allen, 71, Passes Away in Naperville After Mesothelioma Battle

Teddy D. Allen, aged 71, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Edward Hospital in Naperville, surrounded by family after a brief battle with mesothelioma. Originally from Alabama, Ted resided primarily in Romeoville, with stints in Chicago, Bolingbrook, and Woodridge. He worked for Robert Bosch LLC and GM Electromotive during his career.

Ted was a devoted Chicago sports fan and had a particular love for Alabama football. An enthusiast of pool, Ted frequented spots like Lost Acres, Stone City (Half Time), and Q Bar. He also relished his time on the golf course, especially during his annual golf trips with close friends.

In his youth, Ted participated in various sports including tennis, baseball/softball, and flag football. His flag football team, The Boyz, formed lifelong friendships. Ted was known for his sociable nature, enjoying gatherings with friends and making the most of each moment.

Survived by his children Kelly Krzyzanowski and William A. Allen, his former wife Pamela Kozak, siblings Sheila Hohenbery and Johnny Allen, grandchildren Miles Allen, Jack, and Ryan Krzyzanowski, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Frances Allen, and siblings Ann Maupin, Jackie Rosandich, William Allen Jr., and Kerry Allen.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Anderson-Goodale Memorial Home, 21131 W. Renwick Rd., Plainfield (Crest Hill), IL 60544, with a prayer service starting at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to mesothelioma research can be made at the following link: https://give.asbestosdiseaseawareness.org/TedAllen.
