Village of Peotone Village Board met Sept. 9.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

I. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor March at 6:00 pm.

II. Roll call

Village Clerk, Stacey Hartwell, conducted the roll call and the following persons were present: Trustee Hudson, Trustee Marevka, Trustee Richards, Trustee Sandberg, Trustee Sluis and Trustee Strba. Also, present were the Mayor, the Village Administrator, the Village Attorney and the Village Engineer.

III. Public Comments: None

IV. Approval of Consent Agenda:

A. Approve the Minutes of the August 26, 2024, Regular Village Board meeting

B. Approve Payroll/Accounts Payable

C. Approve Trick or Treat Hours for October 31, 2024, 4pm-7pm

The Mayor proposed that the AOC Committee schedule a meeting to discuss expense policies.

V. Staff Committee Reports:

A. Engineer – Troy reported the Crawford Street Resurfacing project will pave the binder tomorrow and pave the surface on Wednesday, the streetscape sidewalks are being poured and lights are being installed and then Com Ed needs to inspect and they can be turned on, he expressed using caution and care in the construction zone and not to walk in the concrete where the pavers are going, Nicor is working on the relocation design for the Conrad Street project.

B. Admin – Nick stated the Xerox contract will be coming due, he is working on it and there could be cost savings, he is also working on policies for travel and training and the cleaning contract. Items will be discussed at the AOC meeting.

VI. Mayor’s Comments: The Mayor wanted to remind people about the Sip N Stroll on September 12th which the Village will have a booth at and the Old Mill Fall Fest on September 15th from 11am-4pm, he also mentioned the story about the Mill on CBS and that Fox will be running one this week.

A. Approve New Business Registration, Emil’s Tires Co, 601 S. 88th Ave, Peotone, IL

B. Approve Resolution Authorizing the Appointment of Nick Palmer as an Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund Authorized Agent

X. Correspondence/Communications/Petitions: The Mayor stated that there are packets available for the April Municipal Election. There are three four year Trustee positions and also the Village President. Packets are available from the Clerk’s office.
