Will County Gazette

There were 75 offenders living in Will County released on parole during the second quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Will County Gazette.

The data shows 67 men and eight women were released in Will County. The median age of the parolees was 35. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2022, and the oldest was a 77-year-old woman sentenced for homicide in 2003.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Richard Makowski. He was convicted of homicide in 1993 when he was 32 years old. He is now 63.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
