Margie Bonuchi's campaign has issued the following press release:

Plainfield, IL – Margie Bonuchi, Village Trustee and Plainfield School District 202 Technology Director, announced her candidacy for Plainfield Mayor today.

“I’m running because I love this community and the families and small businesses that make it home. My husband and I moved here 25 years ago, and I’ve worked every day since to make our town a place where families like mine can grow and thrive.”

Margie has served as a Village Trustee since 2009 and has a record of delivering value for local families. Working with the Mayor and the Board, Margie brought the Village budget into the black without raising property taxes. She helped redevelop downtown Plainfield into a place where local businesses can flourish. 

“We deserve a responsive local government that delivers results for the incredible families and businesses that call Plainfield home. As your mayor, I will keep taxes low, improve transportation infrastructure, and ensure we are welcoming to community businesses,” pledged Margie. “Families are looking to put down roots in safe communities where they have access to good job opportunities and great schools. That is the community Plainfield can and should be.”

If elected Mayor, Margie will build upon the Village’s success and continue to make Plainfield a great place to live. She’ll work for safer roads and more job opportunities to build a better future for the community. 

Margie’s record of service extends beyond local government. She is active with the Plainfield Foundation for Excellence, the Rotary Club, and the Plainfield Interfaith Food Pantry Board.

“I’ve always believed in servant leadership. I’m committed to putting others first and supporting the incredible local organizations and families who make Plainfield special. That is what I’ve done my entire life and what I will do as your next Mayor. We’ve accomplished a lot, and there’s still more we can do to improve the quality of life in Plainfield,” said Margie.

Margie Bonuchi and her husband have lived in Plainfield for 25 years. Margie is a Village Trustee and Technology Administrator for Plainfield School District 202. She has served the Plainfield Foundation for Excellence as chairperson for eight years, and as a band booster, she’s helped raise over $1 million for Plainfield music education.
