Analysis: Braidwood pays $4.65 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Braidwood Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 81.8 percent of the $460,436 the Braidwood Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.65 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Braidwood contributed $376,579 to the fund, which saw a $101,936 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $80,876, or 17.6 percent, in 2018. Another $2,981 came from other unspecified sources.
