Analysis: Joliet pays $5.71 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Joliet Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 85.1 percent of the $14,822,246 the Joliet Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.71 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Joliet contributed $12,616,328 to the fund, which saw a $322,025 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $2,205,919, or 14.9 percent, in 2018.
