Analysis: Peotone pays $5.68 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Peotone FPD Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 85.1 percent of the $111,759 the Peotone FPD Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.68 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Peotone contributed $95,052 to the fund, which saw a $7,527 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $16,706, or 14.9 percent, in 2018. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
