Analysis: Plainfield pays $2.53 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Plainfield FPD Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 71.3 percent of the $1,949,451 the Plainfield FPD Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $2.53 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Plainfield contributed $1,390,125 to the fund, which saw a $107,227 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $548,325, or 28.1 percent, in 2018. Another $11,001 came from other unspecified sources.
