CITY OF WILMINGTON: Past-Due Balances Have Until July 1, 2020 To Set Up A Payment Plan

Pay

City of Wilmington issued the following announcement on June 12.

On March 18, 2020, the City of Wilmington suspended late fees and disconnections on the monthly utility bills for customers experiencing financial difficulties as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Now, as the Illinois Governor’s plan to reopen the state continues and businesses are able to reopen gradually, the City of Wilmington plans to resume collecting late fees and enforcing disconnections.

The City of Wilmington will reinstate these penalties July 21, 2020. Customers with past-due balances should call utility billing at 815-476-2175 ext 223 to discuss payment options.

Customers with past-due balances have until July 1, 2020 to set up a payment plan, and customers who honor their payment arrangements will have late fees forgiven until their account returns to good standing.

Utility bill payments may be conducted online at www.wilmington-il.com, mailed, in-person or placed in the secure drop box located on the southside of the City Hall building.
