CITY OF WILMINGTON: Number Of COVID-19 Confirmed Cases In The City of Wilmington Remains At Six!

Update

City of Wilmington issued the following announcement on May 14.

Happy to report that the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in the City of Wilmington remains at six! There are some immediately surrounding Wilmington as well, but the Will County Health Department (WCHD) is only providing us with the numbers within our corporate limits.

The WCHD keeps the addresses listed as "Hazard Records" (which notifies first responders if they are dispatched to that residence) for 60 days as long as no other occupants of the home test positive. Our first confirmed case will "purge" from the system on June 4th, and our most recent confirmed case will go on June 23rd.

The fact that we have only had 6 confirmed cases speaks volumes to all of our citizens, who are obviously doing the right things by washing their hands often, sanitizing, social distancing, and following other guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Thank you, and please keep up the good work!
