City of Wilmington issued the following announcement on May 8.
Waste Management just announced that they will resume the collection of bulky items in our community the week of May 11, 2020. Bulky items include furniture, mattresses, carpet, appliances, etc. that weigh less than 75 lbs. and that can be safely handled by 1 driver.
Collection will follow regular schedules and guidelines. We respectfully ask that residents with a large amount of bulk material continue to adhere to the volume limits of our community. We ask that residents with more items place these items out over time. This is strictly to ensure that the Waste Management collection teams can complete all core services each week.

At this time, Waste Management is not rescheduling the Spring cleanup events due to their inability to adhere to social distancing requirements. We anticipate having a Fall City Wide Garbage pickup. More details will be shared in the months ahead.
