CITY OF WILMINGTON: Update on Governor's Executive Order

Interviewmedia

City of Wilmington issued the following announcement on April 24.

Governor Pritzker announced today that he is extending his Stay at Home order through May 30, 2020.

There will be some changes including the following as of May 1st:

- Surgicenters and some elective surgeries will reopen.

- Some State Parks will be phased back to limited opening.

- Golf will be permitted while following social distancing standards previously set forth.

- Greenhouses and gardening centers can open while following social distancing standards

- Dog grooming facilities can reopen.

- Face coverings will be mandated in public where you cannot remain 6' apart from people.

This is what we have heard for now, but hopefully more restrictions will be lifted. Hopefully a list will be provided by the governor's office soon.

We all want to get back to normal but need to be cautious. You've done a great job at preventing the spread, which is obvious with the small number of confirmed cases here in Wilmington. Wash your hands, sanitize your belongings, practice social distancing, and stay at home.
