City of Crest Hill issued the following announcement on April 30.
Beginning Sunday night May 12, 2019 at approximately 9:00pm all fire hydrants in the City of Crest Hill Water System will be flushed to improve water quality and check operation of the hydrants. The hydrants will be flushed as shown on the map, starting with zone 1 working toward zone 10 and be done between 9pm and 6am each night. Hydrant flushing is expected to be completed by May 24, 2019.
Customers may notice some water discoloration during the flushing. We ask you to please check your water prior to using water on the day hydrants in your area are being flushed. Though the water may be discolored, it is safe to use.
