The price of local government in 2017: Village of Romeoville

The Village of Romeoville budget was $85.41 million for its 2017 fiscal year, or $7,142 per household.

That's a decrease of 10.8 percent from 2016, when the village spent $95.73 million, or $8,005 per household.

Romeoville has 11,959 households and a population of 39,680.

Since 2001, the Village of Romeoville budget has grown by 122.1 percent, from $38.45 million. The village population has grown 87.6 percent over the same period, from 21,153.

Salaries accounted for 26.7 percent of village spending in 2017. Romeoville property taxpayers paid $22.84 million for 210 full-time employees and 247 part-time employees.
