Report: Wilmington spent $12,128 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Wilmington Community Unit School District 209U is up 19.9 percent from five years ago, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Will County school district spent $10,119 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $12,128 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1486 to 1355.

Wilmington's spending in 2017-18 was 9.1 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
