Report: Manhattan spent $7,894 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Manhattan School District 114 is down 10.1 percent from five years ago, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Will County school district spent $8,779 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $7,894 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1353 to 1477.

Manhattan's spending in 2017-18 was 40.8 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
